How did you get into developing apps?

Physiosensing:

As a cardiologist I’ve been interested physiology professionally. But software is a new interest. With advances in cellphone technology I’ve felt that it is the ideal platform to use in physiological monitoring. The goal is to provide insights to user’s own physiology and the impacts that different factors can have on health. For example, if blood glucose in diabetics or blood pressure in hypertensives are controlled tightly, the probability of heart disease in the future can be reduced significantly. Physiosensing’s eDiabetes and eHypertension apps provide users ways to do this.

What was your inspiration for developing this app?

Physiosensing:

I use very high tech tools as a physician but these are usually limited to use in sick patients. My idea is to bring some of these physiological sensing tools to the average person so that the average person if interested can monitor their physiology and know what is going on in their body. Athletes, diabetes at home, people with high blood pressure, are some of the people who may be interested.

About 2 years.

No.

Do you have any future plans for this app?

Physiosensing:

Definitely. We want to develop the apps to the point where users do not need to do anything to enter the data. We are planning on automating the data gathering part to sensors that would automatically and wirelessly update the database in the background. All that the users would have is the end results, i.e. variables being monitored, effects that factors such as exercise, weight loss, or medications are having on them and predictions and recommendations.

Do you plan to develop any new apps? If so when can we expect to see them in the Market?

Physiosensing:

Yes. A whole suite of physiological monitor apps was planned from the beginning. The most recent app released was eCholesterol Pro. Next one will be Runners Body.
