the thing about android is that it will be on phones with 1 ghz cpu's, 4.3" screens and 800x480 resolutions. So of course everyone will want those for games. I just hope they combine that power with a g1 style keyboard/trackball because it's kinda silly to play a game with just "twist and touch."

Let's be fair, their games are never likely to run well on Android - the hardware isn't really up to it. I love my Android phone but the only apps on it are for work. Games and other useless frivolity goes on my iPod Touch.

In the end, my Android phone gets used all the time with apps that are actually useful and my iPod plays music. The games gather dust.

Gameloft pulling out? meh

You're right, Gameloft will definitely have been seeing less than impressive sales of their Android games because of poor quality ports, but there does seem to be a general feeling among a number of developers, including those with very well received apps, that sales have not been as good as they had expected.
Coincidentally, Gameloft just released a contradictory press release earlier today that states they're embracing the second generation Android phones. See here - http://www.thisandroidlife.com/2009/11/gameloft-in-android-u-turn.html
