iGuerilla Android App Review

The iGuerilla Android App by @Alx is a shooter game for the Android with awesome graphics but no so impressive controls. Here is the back story to the game that the developer sent to us in their review request e-mail:

“Soldier,

You have been selected to deploy to Africa to engage in covert
operations against rebel militants who are terrorizing the local
population. By now you have learned that our organization is secret and
does not answer to any government. Our mission is to fight for peace in
areas where the world’s militaries have been ineffective.

Your mission is to find and eliminate the enemy from inside their own
bases of operation . To maintain your cover and permit easier movement
in enemy-controlled territory, you will work alone and will begin your
mission with minimal weapons.

Our agents have already hidden weapons and survival briefcases in the
combat areas. You will no doubt find a need for these items as you
execute your mission.

We have identified 9 critical combat areas in the region. After
clearing one area, you will be sent along to your next assignment.

Soldier, we have already spent too much precious time in this briefing.
The enemy is closing in on more innocent targets. Now, it’s up to you
to stop them….”

When the app first loads the graphics are very impressive but when you actually play the game you will probably be disappointed and here’s why. To control the shooter you use your finger on the display screen to drag the gun around and aim it at the enemies. This takes some getting used to and it’s not as responsive as it looks. To shot simply tap on the display screen. You will find this easier to do by controlling the gun with one finger and shooting with the other. This absolutely needs to be fixed because is seriously hurts the gameplay. Also, there is only one gun, it would be cool to be able to get others. The enemies also need some work. They are cardboard style and they tend to show up in the exact same places. Maybe even animate them so that they run by, etc.

Overall, this game definiately has some serious potential and the graphics are very well done. I hope this app is updated soon with these issues resolved because it seriously has a lot of potential. I will leave it to the developer to comment on this review once they have fixed these issues.
